create an interactive telescope.

Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest skyscraper… and though it’s in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, it’s got a little Montréal flavour. A firm specializing in exhibition design and production, gsmprjct°, played an important role in creating an observation deck on the 124th floor of this spectacular building. In order to provide a never-before-seen view of Dubai, the firm developed a technologically-advanced, interactive electronic telescope: the Tellscope. Consisting of a high-resolution digital camera linked to a touch-screen, the telescope provides a wealth of information that can be accessed by simply touching one’s finger to points of interest on which the user has focused the device. The Tellscope also includes pre-recorded images that allow users to view landscapes as they appear in the daytime and at night, or in different weather conditions. Twelve telescopes have been installed on the observation deck. For this unique 160-storey building that climbs to a height of 828 metres, gsmprjct° also created the At the Top Burj Khalifa experience. After having viewed an interactive exhibition consisting of several spaces that chronicle the development of the building and of the city of Dubai, visitors are whisked up to the observation deck in two specially designed elevators, preparing them for the awe-inspiring view that awaits them on the 124th floor.
