create technology to watch and experience TV in 3D
Entertainment experts are unanimous: the future of 3D, at the cinema or on television, is spectacular. And few companies have managed to stand out in the field as great as SENSIO has. The Montréal company, led by Nicholas Routhier, has developed numerous innovations in this field since 1999—to the extent that big names in broadcast content creation turn to its unequalled expertise when they launch pioneering 3D projects. These include, among others, Vidéotron, ESPN, the NBA, the NCAA, and the FIFA World Cup. The company’s solutions aim to improve the user’s 3D experience. Its star technology, SENSIO Hi-Fi 3D—designated “Best 3D Technology” by a jury of broadcast industry experts in 2010—, delivers high fidelity 3D images to users of 3D screens, via cable broadcast and on-demand systems, Internet, DVD players, and hi-def game consoles. In addition, SENSIO’s technologies do away with remote controls through the automatic detection and selection of the appropriate 3D format, and allow tri-dimensional content to be viewed in 3D or 2D. The company is also innovating in the area of content availability. It was the driving force behind facilitating the broadcast of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in “live 3D” in cinemas around the world, and it has just launched a video library of varied content in the SENSIO Hi-Fi 3D format, available on-demand via an Internet-based platform.
