use images to better understand disease conditions

Technological advances in the medical field are often invaluable. Object Research System (ORS), a Montréal software development firm, has created ORS Visual, a solution that allows images from various medical scanners to be reviewed and analyzed, thereby improving the effectiveness of radiologists and healthcare specialists. With this tool, healthcare professionals can easily work with 2D, 3D, and 4D images to better understand and detect pathologies. Using this platform, anatomical images from magnetic resonance, Ultrasound, or nuclear imaging scans, for example, can be read more easily. And better yet, the tool allows images to be visualized, segmented, and analyzed on laptop or desktop computers, or over the Internet. The tool also reduces costs associated with IT while accelerating users’ workflow. In addition to Canada and the United States, where it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market the latest version of the product, the company distributes ORS Visual software in Brazil and Japan. ORS was a winner of the 2008 edition of the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal’s Anges Financiers competition.
