HAVE BRIDGES AND SKYWAYS THAT COME IN KITS READY FOR ASSEMBLY
Aluminum is abundant in the earth’s crust, and Québec is the world’s fourth largest producer of the metal. Noted especially for its lightness and its ability to assume complex forms, aluminum is widely used in industry. Yet it is rarely used for structural elements in construction. MAADI Group has overcome this limitation by developing Make-A-Bridge, a modular system based on an extruded alloy of aluminum that, once assembled, yields a bridge or a skyway combining lightness, sturdiness and elegance. This system, made from interchangeable parts, can be made into various forms, such as skyways or bridges for pedestrians or cyclists, either self-standing or attached to viaducts. Indeed, this innovative process allows for countless configurations. Since aluminum does not rust, the lifespan of these structures is practically unlimited. Furthermore, aluminum needs no maintenance and thus does not require the use of products that are harmful to the environment. The components of the Make-A-Bridge system are standardized and prefabricated; thus engineering costs and production time are kept to an absolute minimum. Delivery and assembly offer the same benefits, since the parts are delivered in a kit. Assembly requires no welding, thanks to a system of cast couplings that gives the structure its great rigidity. In addition, the assembled structure can very easily be painted and illuminated to blend harmoniously into the environment.
